Big Dance Hertfordshire 2010

At 3.30pm on Sunday 4 July in the Harlequin Shopping Centre, Watford DanceDigital will be presenting an explosive performance from ZooNation. The performance is a specially reworked extract of Into the Hoods for Big Dance Goes East that is FREE for everyone to enjoy.

Into the Hoods received universal praise at two Edinburgh Fringes (2006/07) and during its West End run last year. Its success has had a huge impact on the profile of street dance in the UK. Featuring music from Stevie Wonder, Dizzee Rascal, Massive Attack, The Chemical Brothers, Kanye West and Prince, Into the Hoods tells the story of two runaway kids and their adventures in the ominous Ruff Endz estate.

In the run up to this year’s Big Dance events, DanceDigital looks back to 2008’s activities in St. Albans. You can see some of the participants giving their feedback on the day in the video below, together with some clips of the work that was performed on the day.

In 2010 DanceDigital will be back in St. Albans and Watford to celebrate Big Dance once more. This year we will have demonstrations along in the Harlequin Shopping Centre, and the Town Hall St. Albans presenting performances and workshops from local dance groups plus a special performance from ZooNation!
